Ernesto Millán
Ernesto Millán (Matanzas, Kuba, 1973) ist aCuban photographer and visual artist, member of theNationaler Verband der Schriftsteller und Künstler Kubas (UNEAC). Er hält aBachelor’s Degree in German Language and Literature von derUniversity of Havana (1998).
He has completed several specialized courses and workshops in photography, einschließlichPhotography in the Visual Arts(taught by Carlos Vegas, 2002); From Documentary Photography to Photojournalism (Ramón Pacheco, 2006); Cuban Photography (Livorio Nodal, 2008); UndFotoFest International and Foundation for Culture and Society (2017).
Millán has received numerous distinctions, including beinginvited to the International Biennial of Lyon (2019), earning theJuan Esnard Grant, and winning theGrand Prize at the Provincial Salon of Visual Arts of UNEAC, Matanzas (2022). He also participated in theBiennale von Havanna through the projectsRíos Intermitentes I, II, and III, presented in Matanzas.
His work has been featured in severalGruppenausstellungen, such asInventario I UndSalón de Invierno (Galería Pedro Esquerré, UNEAC, 2021); Mundos Convergentes (Fotonoviembre, Galería Pedro Esquerré, 2022); Sinceramente(UNEAC, 2022); UndSalón José Ramón Fundora (UNEAC, 2023), all in Matanzas.
Among hisEinzelausstellungen, highlights includeIntrépidos Labios (Palacio Quintanar, Spanien, 2013); Sábanas Blancas(Provincial Center of Visual Arts and Design, Havanna, 2022); und ascenographic exhibition for the zarzuelaSanta Camila de La Habana Vieja amNational Theater of Cuba (Havanna, 2022).
