Héctor D. Palacios Maturell
Héctor D. Palacios Maturell is a Cuban visual artist whose career spans more than a decade of participation in group exhibitions and artistic projects both in Cuba and abroad. His work has been presented in significant spaces such as the Ludwig Foundation of Cuba and Galería Taller Gorría, as well as in collateral events of the Havana Biennial, reflecting an active presence within the contemporary art circuit. From his early exhibitions at the National Academy of Fine Arts “San Alejandro” to recent projects such as Perpetual (2025), his work has moved across diverse platforms, including both physical and digital exhibitions.
His artistic training was shaped within key Cuban institutions, including the Experimental Center for the Visual Arts “José Antonio Díaz Peláez” and the Academy “San Alejandro,” where he studied from 2012 bis zur 2016. This formation was expanded through workshops with recognized artists and international exchange experiences such as The Approach, a project linking Cuban students with the University of the Arts (IST EIN) and the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts). These experiences have contributed to a practice informed by intercultural dialogue and experimentation.
Seit 2023, Palacios has also worked in technical assistance and logistics at the studio of artist José Gabriel Capaz, complementing his creative work with direct involvement in the dynamics of contemporary artistic production.
