Jorge Lopez Gonzalez

Jorge Lopez Gonzalez (Havanna, 1995) is a Cuban visual artist and printmaker specializing inxylography (woodcut engraving). His artistic practice integrates traditional printmaking techniques with conceptual research, exploring the expressive potential of the carved image, texture, and visual narrative. As amember of Proyecto Imagen 3, he actively participates in a collaborative platform that promotes contemporary Cuban art, fostering dialogue, artistic experimentation, and collective creation. His involvement in this project has strengthened his connection to the emerging generation of Cuban artists working at the intersection of technique, concept, and cultural identity.

His work in xylography emphasizes the tactile and symbolic nature of wood as a medium, addressing themes related to memory, Identität, and the poetic dimension of everyday life. Through manual engraving, he explores the materiality of printmaking, generating images that reflect both artistic tradition and contemporary sensibility.
