Leidy Castellanos (Matanzas, Kuba, 1990) ist aCuban photographer and visual artist whose work explores the intersections between identity, Erinnerung, and everyday life through contemporary photographic language. She holds aBachelor’s Degree in Social Communication von derFaculty of Arts and Humanities at the University of Matanzas(2015) and graduated as anArt Instructor in Visual Arts in 2009.

Castellanos has expanded her practice through advanced training inauthorial and documentary photography. She participated in theAuthor Photography Workshop “El acto de extrañar”, taught by Mexican photographer and editorMayra Martell amKuba-Fotobibliothek in Havanna; thePhotography Workshop “Entre lo común y lo personal. Cartografiando”, led byDr. Carma Casula, Spanish visual artist, photographer, and university professor, held in Matanzas during the first edition of theFotocanímar Festival (2024); und dieWitness Documentary Photography Workshop, third edition (2024), amRaúl Corrales Gallery in Havanna, Kuba.

Her work has been included in severalcollective exhibitions, such asFemme Fatale beiHavanna kreative Räume(ProjektWomen’s Society); theXXVIII Provincial Salon of Visual Arts Roberto Diago Querol; theXXVI Provincial Salon of Visual Arts Conrado Massaguer (2025); und dieProvincial Winter Salon 2025 amACAA branch in Matanzas. International, she participated in theFirst International Collective Exhibition “Narrativas de luz y ausencias” beiGalería Andrómeda 3.20 (Mexiko). She also took part in thecollective exhibition “Alienaciones del Límite”, organized by theWomen’s Society Project as part of the15Biennale von Havanna, held atEspacio Híbrido, headquarters of theONDI.
