Lien Villavicencio Cabrera

Lien Villavicencio (Matanzas, Kuba, 2003) ist aCuban photographer, photojournalist, and visual storyteller. She graduated inJournalism von derSchool of Communication at the University of Havana and has been actively involved inphotography for over three years. Her work has been published in leading Cuban media outlets such asPeriodismo de Barrio, Periódico Girón, El Estornudo, UndDer bärtige Caiman.

Villavicencio has participated inphotography workshops and conferences onvisual language and photojournalism, developing a documentary approach that combines narrative sensitivity with a focus on social realities. She is the author ofAlrededor de una pelea (Around a Fight), einphotographic essay exploringcockfighting in Carlos Rojas, Matanzas, Kuba, where she examines themes of cultural identity, ritual, and tradition. Recognized as one of the emerging voices inCuban contemporary photography, she was selected for theWitness Photoworkshop Fellowship 2025.
