Munus Corpori / Munus Corpori

In dieser Arbeit, I draw upon family-held photographic archives featuring myself to investigate how I locate and recognize myself through the memories of others, exploring these images as part of a memory that is both fragmented and shared through experience. So wie Schleifpapier zum Formen verwendet wird, polieren, and mold materials, photography—as a medium—significantly intervenes in and alters both our self-perception and how we are perceived within the social sphere. This reveals that remembering does not mean preserving something intact, but rather accepting the constant transformation of who we believe ourselves to be. These images—peaceful and neutral, yet simultaneously erosive—present the possibility of destruction as an opportunity for renewal: an image destroyed in the construction of another, a gift.
