Choco immersed himself in a vast legacy and returned from it with a singular figuration, where African elements enter into dialogue with other sensibilities through a process of synthesis. His art is not limited to a specific reference; eher, it emerges from a constant investigation into the dynamics, Erinnerungen, and essences ofCuban culture.
His palette, firmly anchored in the colors of the earth, transcends the merely aesthetic to become an ethical and conceptual statement. In those tones, a sense of belonging is revealed, as well as a will for rootedness that connects the artist with the ancestral and the original. Choco did not represent from a distance, but from lived experience, assuming a genuine voice that emerged from shared memory.
