Stehen zu - Duvier del Dago

In his exhibition STANDBY Duvier del Dago (*1976 in Zulueta, Kuba) merges installations and drawings on a subject that has aroused great controversy internationally: the use of civilian drones and the norms for their use. ‚I want to examine the ethical and moral values affected by the uncontrolled use of that technology. The effect of technology on man and nature is one of the themes reflected in my exhibition. At a metaphorical level I have solved it with the physical confrontation between natural elements and artefacts or machines of war. I am interested in examining who controls whom, and with what methods. I will also address the topic of social networks.

Prisma 8 - Bei der Havanna -Biennale

Landscape has been, and continues to be, one of the great genres of the visual arts. Since it acquired autonomy, it has become much more than a mere representation of the natural environment; it has also been a symbolic recreation of emotional and philosophical states. Heute, landscape has multiplied its formal, stylistic, and conceptual implications, and it dialogues with a context increasingly shaped by the impact of new technologies. For the eighth edition of the Prisma competition, which will also serve as a parallel exhibition for the 15th Havana Biennial, ArteMorfosis focuses on landscape in contemporary Cuban art.

Prisma 6 – Korpus - Poesie der menschlichen Figur

CALL FOR ARTISTS The body is the temple. The body is the confluence of disparate senses. The realization of a symbolic realm. An aesthetic possibility… In this edition of our Prisma contest, we will approach the body as the axis of multiple poetics. We are interested in exploring the paths that Cuban artists have traveled from and to the body, starting from a purely anatomical dimension to a metaphorical vision. The human figure, which is one of the great themes of art, will be the motif for recreation. The technique, medium, and genre of the pieces will be free. Limits will only be set in terms of dimensions, with the aim of organizing an exhibition at our Havana headquarters with the finalist pieces. The competing works must be displayed or reproduced on the web pages, accounts, or social media profiles of their authors. Considering the growing importance of Internet platforms in the socialization, promotion, and marketing of artistic production, the jury will particularly value the creativity with which the pieces are presented on the chosen networks. The goal is to encourage the use of forms that contribute to a better positioning of the works in the digital realm; these can be videos associated with the creation processes, comments from the artists, images that allow contextualizing the pieces… or any creative resource that the author proposes. The exhibition Prisma 6 shows the winners of the Call For Artists of the same name
