Leidy Castellanos Moreno
Leidy Castellanos (Matanzas, Cuba, 1990) es unCuban photographer and visual artist whose work explores the intersections between identity, memoria, and everyday life through contemporary photographic language. She holds aBachelor’s Degree in Social Communication desdeFaculty of Arts and Humanities at the University of Matanzas(2015) and graduated as anArt Instructor in Visual Arts en 2009.
Castellanos has expanded her practice through advanced training inauthorial and documentary photography. She participated in theAuthor Photography Workshop “El acto de extrañar”, taught by Mexican photographer and editorMayra Martell en elFototeca de Cuba en la Habana; elPhotography Workshop “Entre lo común y lo personal. Cartografiando”, led byDr. Carma Casula, Spanish visual artist, photographer, and university professor, held in Matanzas during the first edition of theFotocanímar Festival (2024); y elWitness Documentary Photography Workshop, third edition (2024), en elRaúl Corrales Gallery en la Habana, Cuba.
Her work has been included in severalcollective exhibitions, comoFemme Fatale aHabana Espacios Creativos(ProyectoWomen’s Society); elXXVIII Provincial Salon of Visual Arts Roberto Diago Querol; elXXVI Provincial Salon of Visual Arts Conrado Massaguer (2025); y elProvincial Winter Salon 2025 en elACAA branch in Matanzas. Internacionalmente, she participated in theFirst International Collective Exhibition “Narrativas de luz y ausencias” aGalería Andrómeda 3.20 (México). She also took part in thecollective exhibition “Alienaciones del Límite”, organizado por elWomen’s Society Project as part of the15a Bienal de La Habana, held atEspacio Híbrido, headquarters of theONDI.
