Acto trivial de resistencia no. 1 is an artistic gesture that challenges norms and questions the hierarchy of everyday tasks. Through a documentary-style video, I capture my choice to go to the hair salon instead of engaging in activities considered “important.” Within this seemingly trivial act lies a powerful assertion of autonomy and empowerment.
The camera focuses on my face as scissors cut my hair, and the words flow: “There is no greater urgency than owning my time. No task more relevant than caring for myself. No resistance more powerful than choosing what I desire.”
This act becomes a symbol of conscious refusal and an affirmation that small decisions also matter. I aim to invite the viewer to reflect on the importance of everyday choices in building our own narrative of empowerment.
