Evelyn Aguilar- aguas sin nombre
Los itinerarios visuales de la producción artística reciente de Evelyn Aguilar (la Habana, 1991) revelar un interés en explorar -y explotar- El mar como recurso expresivo.. La inmensurabilidad de esta masa de agua., gentil y/o temperamental, es poderoso, fuerza insondable, emana de las obras sobre lienzo y metal de este joven artista cubano. La riqueza del empaste y la pausa de las pinceladas que exhiben sus obras, tensando las fronteras de lo figurativo, recreando imágenes casi abstractas o, como la propia artista prefiere llamarlo, snippets of that sea.
“Certain coordinates help us to reconstruct the memory… The open sea is part of my being, as well as the analogy between time, las costumbres del hombre, la condición de una cultura, histórico, isla geográfica, which have defined my past and continue to do so from now on. Pero más que ser, it is feeling like that open sea, it is my metaphor of the human soul. That is why it became essential in my work to represent something as open as the ocean to rethink about the fragments that define not one, pero todas las personas, un contexto, a time and an insular tradition.”
