Gilberto Frómeta Fernández (la Habana, Cuba, 1946), forma parte de la primera generación de artistas cubanos posrevolucionarios. Inicialmente fue conocido en el estado insular caribeño., y luego internacionalmente, por sus imágenes de caballos pintados de negro sobre fondo blanco. sin embargo, hoy el foco de la obra del artista está en la pintura abstracta que ha aparecido en su obra desde 2001.
