Juan Rivero
Juan Rivero (Holguín, 1976) is a Cuban artist who lives and works in Spain. He currently works in the painting and engraving workshops of master Juan Ripollés at Mas de Flors, in Castellon. After graduating from the Professional School of Plastic Arts of Holguín, "El Alba", in the discipline of Painting, he studied at the Higher Institute of Art (ISA), specializing in this artistic manifestation. Between 2001 and 2006 he worked as a professor at the Academy of Painting (San Alejandro) and curator of the Center of Design and Visual Arts of Havana (Luz y Oficios). As curator he participated in the five editions of the Circus Project held in Havana (International Performance and Audiovisual Event). He has had personal exhibitions between Cuba and Spain, in spaces such as: La Marina Cultural Center, Atzaneta City Hall and Pictograma Art Gallery, in Castellon; and the Wifredo Lam Contemporary Art Center, in Cuba. His works have been part of Cuban collective projects carried out in Galería Habana, Delirio gallery-studio and in the VII edition of the Havana Biennial.
