The work aims to be a psychological portrait of a hero with a disturbed state of mind. He is a rebel possessing traits that set him apart from the classical conception of the hero; he has transformed into a defiant figure whose actions are driven not by virtue, but by the destruction of an adversary holding opposing ideals, all to ensure the triumph of his own.
The piece seeks to subvert this figure's role. It highlights the dangers of granting unchecked authority to a symbol capable of inflicting physical and psychological repercussions on his surroundings—consequences stemming from the dominance of a singular, absolute view of reality—a concept metaphorically represented by a backdrop of flames that consumed both the atmosphere and the figure himself.
