Artwork Statement

These images are part of an ongoing series titled Limbo. The concept—of Catholic origin—defines a place situated on the edge of hell, a sort of upper level where the flames do not reach, yet salvation is also absent. Drawing on both personal and collective experiences, the series explores what it means to live in a country like Cuba, where life seems to unfold in a peculiar way. The images in Limbo recreate that feeling.
