In an extraordinary unveiling, the ArteMorfosis Gallery is thrilled to announce the inaugural exhibition of Cuba’s renowned contemporary artist, Flora Fong. From April 16th, Switzerland will witness the evocative pieces of Fong for the very first time.
Flora Fong, born in 1949, stands as a trailblazing figure, being one of the first women to grace the post-revolutionary Cuban art scene. Her works, infused with a blend of Chinese-Caribbean perspectives and punctuated with strong shapes and vibrant colors, have been celebrated and awarded at numerous international exhibitions. With the title “El Arte, Elixir de la Vida” which translates to “Art, the Elixir of Life,” ArteMorfosis Gallery will display Fong’s mesmerizing paintings and sculptures. Through her art, Fong, the daughter of a Chinese immigrant and a Cuban mother, powerfully conveys the cultural dichotomies, their blend, and the migration stories without reservation.
“We are overjoyed to introduce such an internationally acclaimed artist and her pieces to Switzerland for the very first time,” exclaimed the ecstatic gallery owners, Idalmys and Johann Burkhard.
