About Artist

Jacqueline Brito Jorge, a visual artist born in Havana in January 1973, received her academic training at prestigious Cuban institutions. She studied at the Elementary School of Visual Arts in Havana from 1984 to 1987, and later at the San Alejandro Provincial School of Visual Arts (1987–1991). She completed her education at the Instituto Superior de Arte (University of the Arts) from 1991 to 1996, specializing in Painting. Throughout her career, she has enriched her creative process through workshops on art criticism and contemporary creation techniques.

She has held solo exhibitions in various venues across Cuba and Colombia. In recent years, notable shows include Calendario 2024. Barranquilla Ciudad Art Deco. A Tribute to Manuel Carrerá, sponsored by Fundación Gases del Caribe and Ars Antiqua Gallery (2023–2024), as well as Recent Work, at Anticua Almacén Vivi Feris, also in Barranquilla. In Cuba, she participated with Open Studio. Vórtice, a collateral event of the 13th Havana Biennial (2019), and in two-person exhibitions at the Residence of the Colombian Embassy in Havana and at the Casa del Marqués de Valdehoyos in Cartagena de Indias (2017). In 2015, she was part of Redes Sociales, within the Zona Franca project of the 12th Havana Biennial.

Her work has been featured in important group exhibitions in Cuba, the United States, and Colombia. In 2025, she is taking part in Cuban Women Art (Cuban Art Space, New York) and in Ir, Venir, Volver, a collateral event of the 15th Havana Biennial. In 2024, her work is included in commemorative exhibitions at the Hotel Inglaterra, the Casa del Alba Cultural, the 23 y C Gallery, and the Gabriel García Márquez Cultural Center in Bogotá. She has also been represented in events such as MetamorfosisPáginas Escogidas30 Mujeres en la Gráfica Cubana, and the Arte 7siete/5cinco fair. Her works are part of institutional and private collections in Germany, Mexico, and the United States.
