About Artist

Javier Moldes Galán (Havana, 1979) has a degree in Plastic Arts with a specialization in Painting. He studied at the Instituto Superior de Arte (2005) and the San Alejandro Academy (1999). Since 2014, he has worked as a teacher at the Higher Institute of Design (ISDI), where he has developed a sustained pedagogical work, in addition to previous experiences in cultural houses and elementary schools.
Her work has been exhibited in several solo exhibitions, including What can I tell you! (2023), Opening Files (2015) and Machinations (2005). In addition, he has participated in more than twenty group exhibitions in Cuba and abroad, such as The Nala Project, ECO Art, the City without limits and collateral events to the Havana Biennials. His work has traveled through physical spaces and virtual platforms, incorporating collaborative and international experiences.
With a contemporary and versatile approach, Javier Moldes Galán's work explores themes linked to the city, memory and cultural processes. His work combines artistic creation with teaching, and reveals a sustained commitment to art as a form of thought, communication and social participation.
