The Prophet identifies the central figure of the painting—an individual who heralds a radical societal shift by presenting a new conception of reality. The painting features an allegory of Liberty in one corner, accompanied by related texts; these symbols serve to imbue the protagonist with a messianic quality. The work illustrates the loss of free will and the enduring social discord resulting from the political measures taken by hegemonic systems in response to this situation.
