
Adriana Pérez Mugia
Adriana Pérez Mugía (b. 1985) is a Cuban visual artist and art educator whose work explores symbolic language and intimate narratives. A 2007 graduate in Painting from the San Alejandro Academy of Fine Arts in Havana, she has developed a multifaceted practice that bridges personal experience and collective memory through diverse media and formats.
Her solo exhibitions include Mi primer hogar (2024) at HOSTAL LOFT BAHÍA in Old Havana; Cíclope – Charlas sobre la novísima fotografía cubana and Espacio – Artista invitado, both presented at Fábrica de Arte Cubano; En la franja de lo marginal (2014) at Galería Teodoro Ramos Blanco; and El Mar, la Ciudad y Nosotros (2013) at “La Moderna,” the Municipal Gallery of Centro Habana.
Her work has also been featured in prominent group exhibitions, including Nudity it’s a joke, a collateral show of the 15th Havana Biennial; the International Festival FOTOCANÍMAR in Matanzas; the 9th Salon of Contemporary Cuban Art; and La presencia de una ausencia at the ARTHAUS Residency.
Pérez Mugía actively participates in professional art exchanges, such as portfolio reviews with international curators at the Art Exchange Festival. She has collaborated with leading cultural institutions, including the Embassy of Spain in Cuba, the French School of Havana “Alejo Carpentier,” and the Center for the Development of Visual Arts.
