About Artist

Yonlay Cabrera and Claudio Sotolongo are Cuban visual artists whose individual practices intersect through collaborative projects that merge digital art, graphic design, and visual research from distinct yet complementary perspectives. Their work explores the relationship between technology, collective memory, and urban space, engaging with the symbolic potential of images in contemporary contexts.

Cabrera is an artist, designer, and academic with a PhD and MA in Media Art from Tama Art University in Tokyo, and a BA in Art History from the University of Havana. He has worked as a motion designer for international brands such as Samsung, LG, and UberEATS, and has exhibited his work at major events including the Ars Electronica Festival (Austria), the Havana Biennial (2022, 2024), and solo exhibitions in Japan. His artistic research centers on the relationship between art, digital media, and symbolic invention.

Sotolongo is a graphic designer, visual artist, and university professor with a strong focus on visual memory and urban archiving. He is a two-time recipient of the Rome Prize from the Royal Academy of Spain (2017, 2019) and won the Coral Award for Best Poster at the Havana Film Festival (2018). His work has been featured in international design biennials across Europe, Asia, and Latin America, and is part of major collections including the Cuban Cinematheque, the CSPG (USA), and the Museum für Gestaltung in Zurich.

Through occasional collaborations, Cabrera and Sotolongo bring their individual trajectories into dialogue, creating intersections between art, archives, design, and visual critique within a transnational framework of cultural reflection.
