Lissette Solórzano is a visual artist. Lives and works in Havana. Studied at the Higher Institute of Industrial Design. In 2000 she participated in several workshops with the University of Maine Photography. During 2011-2012 he completed his master's degree in Microsoft at the Universidad Cristóbal Colón, Veracruz, Mexico. She obtains an artist residency in the United States with Cara and Cabezas Contemporary Art Gallery (2010). Among the most outstanding publications that include his works is the catalog Act of Sight 2022 (Tsiaras Family Photographic Collection); the collection book of contemporary Cuban photography: The Light in Cuban Eyes 2015; Our Mothers (1996); Artes Plásticas de los 90' and Reflexiones: el Sensacionalismo del Arte de Cuba. His works are part of various public and private collections such as: Casa de las Americas; Fototeca de Cuba; Center for Cuban Studies NY; Harvard University; Museum of the Americas in Denver; The Gallery (Milan and Washington DC); Brevard Museum of Art; Plonsker Family Collection; National Museum of Art in the Philippines; National Center of Photography in Venezuela; Jenkins Johnson Gallery NY - San Fancisco; Colby College Museum of Art; Tsiaras Family Art Collection; Museum of Fine Art Houston and Florida International University (FIU). He has received important awards inside and outside the Island among which stand out: First Prize in Photography 11th Edition "Lorenzo il Magnifico" at the Florence Biennale, 2017; National Curatorial Award for the work "La Ciudad de las Columnas", Havana, Cuba, 2005; Tina Modotti Award from the Cuban press, Havana, Cuba, 1995; and mention with the work "Fantasmas Efímeros" in the Photographic Essay Award, Casa de las Américas, Havana, Cuba, 1994. Member of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC).
