The photo series Atman arises from a process of self-discovery through which I return to the rural environment where I grew up (San Luis), considered the epicenter of tobacco culture in Cuba. In the documented images, there is a rediscovery of the spaces, habits, and people connected to tobacco. From an anthropological perspective, the work evokes new ways of viewing the tobacco landscape, where the harsh demands of daily life transform the "I" into "we."
