The last embrace?, the first after so long? Sad Diamonds is a caress to the soul, the intentional registration of the most visceral emotions linked to distances, the nostalgia of separation and the need for reunion. This series of paintings is the representation that "translates" that extra verbal communication of feelings found between love and sadness, friendship, affection, sympathy and all its antonyms. They are traces, real and unmistakable, of the constant and painful Cuban emigration.
