FROM THE SERIES: Studies of found painting / Study VII
Beauty possesses a remarkable quality: it expands the soul. I deeply believe in an art that elevates us spiritually and cognitively. David’s new photographs reach this dimension. They are fragments of reality that he, by altering translation: scale, angle, or orientation, has emptied of content and history (as Jorge Fernández once told him). In doing so, these images lose all ties to their original reality, leaving only what is essential, which—as always—includes an invisible part, one that lies beyond these fragments: it resides in the viewer’s capacity for expansion.
