Artwork Statement

Several interconnected elements can be observed in Miriannys’s work: the female figure clad in period attire, the recurring sphere or circle, a sense of theatricality, and a constant quest to understand the human being—along with human emotions and faith.

In earlier works—such as *Guerreros* (2018) and the series *Los Soportables pesos del ser* (2016), as well as the recent 2023 exhibition *Aparecidas*—the vertical, massed female image has been a constant presence, leading the artist to distill it into a symbol synthesized as a triangle and a sphere. One could say that her entire body of work is governed by these two forms.
