Artwork Statement

Through a years-long, constant quest, the image of the Virgin has emerged as the central motif of his work. Marian representations and the pursuit of spiritual understanding coalesce to create something akin to a "Big Bang"—an awakening of the symbol that he seeks to sustain over time.
The Virgin and her regional apparitions, the distinctive Cuban character, faith amidst tension and hardship, and Latin American beliefs deeply rooted in the culture are all inextricably linked to this body of work.
