    Artwork Statement

    As Didi-Huberman wrote, “collective memory is built from fragments that converse with one another,” my thirteen miners were the pieces of a shattered mirror where victors and the defeated were reflected in their contradictory nakedness.
    My intention is to contribute to the dialogue on the transformation of post-industrial communities and the role of art in preserving and reimagining cultural identities.
