    Artwork Statement

During the summer, children go to the spring to play and bathe. Water has not reached their homes for months, and the state supply by tanker trucks is highly irregular. There is no sign that the crisis will be resolved in the short or medium term—quite the opposite. As with access to drinking water, there are many other human rights that the government cannot guarantee to millions of Cubans.

In the photograph, the plastic bucket is already broken. That is to say, the pitcher. And the spring: contaminated.
