Furniture modulations No. 6 / Modulaciones de mueble No. 6
“Functionally dysfunctional” proposes a disarticulation of the design furniture product based on its crisis. The reconfiguration of the utilitarian object from the point of view of sculpture, painting and drawing, which destroys its use value, makes use of the aesthetic-conceptual precepts proposed by art; assuming the production of content as a new variable. The piece of furniture is refunctionalized, becoming an artistic object with significant potential. The uselessness of the object as a piece of furniture intends to show the crisis as a metaphor; a symbol of systemic fragmentation. The work is nothing more than a look at the social space from the furniture object, the individual space from the user and the symbolic space from the link. The artistic result is an anarchic product in its objectual pre-definition and totally coherent in its symbolic construction.
