Alberto Domínguez – Functionally Dysfunctional

Alberto Domínguez (Matanzas, 1989), fully aware of the connotative potential of objects, integrates them decisively into his creative work. His recent projects have increasingly embraced a three-dimensional visuality, consistently supported by the communicative resources and language of design. This inclination is not the result of a fortuitous search, but rather the outcome of formative experiences associated with the discipline, which have accumulated like layers in his artistic process. This evolution also reflects his versatility in translating conceptual concerns into artistic material.

“Functionally Dysfunctional” largely crystallizes the malleability of his ideo-aesthetic propositions. In a sort of rhizomatic movement, the thesis that gave birth to the project has branched out, reconfiguring itself through a dialogue between sculptural, pictorial, and drawing spaces.
