    Artwork Statement

A body or an object without memory has no value. I portrayed each face over deteriorating walls because I have always found richness in the trace of time. After an interview, each of them donated a personal object to me, completing the portrait exercise.

This gesture belongs to them, and for that reason I believe the authorship of the work is shared with those portrayed: they chose the symbol in which an invisible biography is inscribed, their own. These objects are not mere utensils, but repositories of what is human. Survival resides there, where layers of meaning overlap.
