Uri, guardian of the hub / Uri, guardián del concentrador
"Uri, Guardian of the Hub" is a photographic series that explores the life of Uri, grandson of miner Paulo David Fabelo Martínez, within the current context of Minas de Matahambre. I am interested in capturing generational transformation and the reinterpretation of the mining legacy in a community once defined by its extractive industry. The photographs document how Uri has integrated the physical remnants of that era into his daily life, creating new narratives and meanings in a landscape shaped by history. This work invites reflection on the resilience of post-industrial communities and the ability of new generations to create their own stories in places heavy with memory.
