    Artwork Statement

ebelde portrays a group of law enforcement agents removing their badges and uniforms, symbolizing their rejection of imposed authority. Their act of defiance is sparked by the influence of a singular figure—one who challenges their obedience and urges them to rise against a system they no longer align with.

The painting reflects on the fragility and manipulability of laws, questioning how legal frameworks—under the guise of order—may conceal injustice. It opens a debate on how certain norms, allegedly designed to uphold justice, can instead serve hegemonic interests, silencing ethical dissent and suppressing alternative perspectives.

Rebelde exposes the contradictions of a system where what is deemed “correct” is often determined by power rather than truth. It reveals how collective morality can be shaped by institutional influence, while individual conscience struggles to reclaim its voice. Through this work, the artist invites us to confront the tension between law and legitimacy, obedience and integrity, conformity and resistance.
