The journey II / El viaje II

The project aims to form a narrative. It is comprised of a succession of works in a variety of formats, techniques and surfaces that comprise a sequence. The narrated story is inspired by the current political and social situation in Cuba. It is related to the uneasiness that the city comprises with respect to the attitudes of the hegemonic system. It analyzes the function of social imaginaries and the power they have to condition or even manipulate the character of the individual towards a specific norm. It describes the life and work of a character who emancipates himself against the government and uses social discomfort to create a revolution. The pieces obtain their visuality through a hybrid practice that poses a fusion between the aesthetics of commercial comics and the visual media with which it is incorporated.
