Presencias Veladas is a contemporary photography exhibition at Event Rooms that questions the limits of so-called “good” photography while exploring the aesthetic and narrative potential of what is technically “incorrect” or escapes the habitual gaze. This experimental photography exhibition ventures into unconventional visual territories, inviting viewers to reconsider how images generate meaning beyond traditional standards.

At the core of Presencias Veladas lies an inquiry into the narratives that can emerge from what society—or the individual—often considers irrelevant. Seen from another perspective, these overlooked elements reveal unexpected forms of beauty and significance. The exhibition is structured around three thematic axes: the photography of the imperceptible; images that capture shadows and formal configurations as traces of the intangible; and visual archives of what has been systematically ignored.

This conceptual photography exhibition enters into dialogue with historiographic precedents found in the work of Cirenaica Moreira, Adrián Fernández, Juan Carlos Alom, and Arienys Castellanos, among others. At the same time, it introduces procedures that expand the photographic experience beyond the fixed image, opening new possibilities for interaction between light, time, and narrative. Each work creates distinct atmospheres and rhythms in which photography becomes an act of revelation, materializing presences that had previously remained latent.
