Group Exhibition – PRISMA 7. Lumen

The seventh edition of the Prisma competition, organized by the ArteMorfosis platform in March 2024, was titled “Lumen. Intervened Photography.” This edition explored the expressive possibilities of photographic imagery in dialogue with digital technologies.
The open call invited Cuban artists living on the Island to experiment with photography beyond its documentary function—approaching it as a field of creative freedom where manipulation, recreation, and technical transformation become acts of visual thought.
Through Lumen, ArteMorfosis presented an open perspective on photography as an expanded art form, capable of unveiling new aesthetic and conceptual truths in the era of the multiplied image.
From twelve finalists, the Grand Prize was awarded to Dave Perurena for his work Deporte Nacional, a piece that stood out for its bold visual treatment and symbolic reading of contemporary Cuban identity. In this artwork, digital intervention is not a mere artifice but a tool for reflection on the boundaries between reality and representation.
With this edition, ArteMorfosis reaffirmed Prisma’s experimental spirit, its commitment to artistic innovation, and its dedication to supporting new generations of creators who, through intervened photography, continue to expand the horizons of Cuban visual arts.
