PRISMA . 11 Perfil

Artemorfosis presents the finalist artworks of its competition Pisma 11: Profile, an exhibition dedicated to portraiture as one of the most enduring and revealing genres in the history of art. Through this selection, the portrait is reaffirmed as a powerful artistic form capable of capturing not only physical appearance, but also the tensions, dreams, and identities of its time. From its earliest origins to its contemporary expressions, portraiture has served as a privileged space for dialogue between the artist and the human condition. These works demonstrate how that tradition remains alive while being reinterpreted and expanded through new visual codes.
The pieces brought together in this exhibition reveal a remarkable use of contemporary artistic languages and emerging technologies that broaden the expressive possibilities of portraiture. The integration of digital media, mixed techniques, and experimental resources not only diversifies the aesthetic experience, but also redefines the limits of the portrait as an artistic category. In these works, the image moves beyond mere representation to become a field of exploration where the intimate, the social, and the technological converge, enriching the landscape of contemporary visual arts.
The exhibition stands out for its diversity of styles and formats, confirming that portraiture continues to be a fertile foundation for contemporary creation. Painting, photography, digital art, and other artistic approaches coexist in a plural dialogue that reveals the vitality of the genre despite its long historical tradition. In this context, Artemorfosis reaffirms its commitment to the promotion and visibility of emerging artists in Cuba, fostering exchange with established masters and encouraging the use of new technologies in both the production and circulation of artworks. In this way, the platform continues to consolidate itself as a dynamic space where tradition and innovation intersect in support of contemporary art.
The jury of Prisma 11 selected 12 finalist artworks and awarded a Grand Prize. Additionally, The Cuban Arts Group Foundation presented a shared collateral award.
