Group Exhibition – PRISMA 8. At The Havana Biennial

The eighth edition of the Prisma art contest, held between October and November 2024 as part of the 15th Havana Biennial, reaffirmed the enduring vitality of landscape as one of the most fertile genres in the visual arts. This year, the theme expanded beyond the representation of the natural environment to become a symbolic space for reflection on emotions, philosophy, and the human relationship with context.
The selected works revealed the diversity of Cuban contemporary art, engaging with new technologies, personal poetics, and the challenges of a world increasingly mediated by the digital.
Promoted by ArteMorfosis, the platform behind the contest, Prisma 8 embraced a hybrid format that combined a physical exhibition at its Event Rooms in Havana with a virtual showcase accessible to an international audience — in harmony with the Biennial’s spirit, Shared Horizons.
Beyond rewarding visual excellence, the jury valued the artists’ ability to communicate their vision and extend their presence across digital and social media platforms. In this way, Prisma 8 not only broadened the horizons of landscape as an artistic theme but also expanded the projection of Cuban art worldwide, building bridges between tradition, innovation, and global connectivity.
